Monir Barakat is managing director of the Business and Product Development Division and he is responsible for its policies and strategic direction. Prior to joining Wafra in 1999, and since 1989, he was managing director of Intercap Investments Inc. From 1979 to 1989, Mr. Barakat was in charge of the investment banking division at Arab American Bank. Mr. Barakat holds a BA from the American University of Beirut.

Mr. Barakat works closely and in conjunction with each Wafra Divison, and most recently has been very much involved with the Structured Finance Division Islamic product launches.
