Position: Senior Associate, Business Support / Alternative Investment Operations

Reports to: Vice President, Alternative Investment Operations

Position Summary:

Wafra pursues excellence in all areas of its operations and activities; the Wafra Operations Department (“Operations”) is no exception.  The Operations team is currently comprised of thirty-six seasoned CPAs, CFAs and Finance professionals with significant prior experience that includes leading financial institutions and Big Four accounting firms who collectively make up a diverse and dynamic team.  The Operations team provides services to the firm’s investors and investment teams including Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting, Investment Valuation, Investor Services, Middle Office, Trade Processing, Settlement and Reconciliation.

The position will be responsible for providing business support within Operations department. Main responsibilities will include undertaking daily, weekly, and monthly operational activities to support servicing of investments made by private equity funds. This position will also be responsible for other miscellaneous operational tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver performance and other client reporting
  • Coordinate settlement of private investment activity, liaise with custodians and internal business teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery
  • Process trade tickets, monitor settlements and reconciliations for publicly traded investment products
  • Liaise with brokers, custodians, and administrators to ensure proper system set up and accuracy of trade records
  • Provide operational support to facilitate tasks related to credit facility loan requests
  • Assist with various tasks during fund audits and coordinate audit confirmation process with the clients
  • Monitor and coordinate processing of proxies
  • Assist with onboarding of new funds, entities, and counterparties
  • Liaise with internal lines of business and external third-party service providers to complete regular and ad hoc requests
  • Actively contribute to process improvements and implementation of best practice

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 4-6 years prior public/private trade settlements experience
  • Experience working with investment products (custody fund of funds, equities, fixed income, )
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office solutions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Team player who possesses the ability to work both independently and with others throughout the firm
  • Strong communication skills
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Positive outlook and demeanor
