As our clients are long-term investors, Wafra strives to be well-suited for the forward-looking risks and opportunities within our portfolios and the sustainability of our company. We believe that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors can lead to the long-term sustainability of the market and can increase shareholder value. As such, Wafra’s ESG team is focused on the thoughtful implementation and promotion of long-term investing and sustainable best practices.
Our approach is embedded in our heritage as we have over 30 years of experience in values-based investing. Additionally, we are signatories to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investing (PRI) and have made a commitment to integrating ESG factors throughout our investment process. Our methodology is customized, we recognize that no one company or manager has the same ESG considerations and as such our Sustainability head, Avantika Saisekar, works with our investment teams to provide ESG analytics to current and potential deals and opportunities.
Ms. Saisekar is actively involved in the ESG community and represents Wafra at a variety of different events. She also sits on the PRI assurance working group where she advises the UN on implementing confidence building measures to enable further transparency and standardization in the ESG market.
We believe a dedicated focus on sustainability and long-termism is essential in enabling us to continue to serve the needs of our clients well into the future.
