Gustavo Cardenas is a Managing Director at Wafra, where he helps lead Wafra’s strategic partnership investment mandates in both mature and growth state asset management businesses. While at Wafra, Mr. Cardenas has completed several direct minority investments, financings and secondary investments as well as investments within closed end funds.
Previously, Mr. Cardenas was a Vice President at Hamilton Lane, focused on co-investments and fund investments. He began his career in investment banking at Bank of America Securities and then at Mesoamerica Partners, a Central American financial group.
Mr. Cardenas earned a BA from Harvard College and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
