Mr. Esterhuysen is the principal contact for WFMS and is responsible for, among other matters, overseeing day-to-day operations, including corporate and related accounting. Mr. Esterhuysen has more than 10 years’ experience in alternative funds. Prior to joining WFMS in 2016, Mr. Esterhuysen was employed as Director of Fund Services at Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). Mr. Esterhuysen was the President of Meridian Fund Services (Bermuda) Limited, an independent fund administration company with offices in New York, Canada and Bermuda, when it was acquired by MUFG in 2014. At Meridian, Mr. Esterhuysen served as the relationship manager for several of Meridian’s key clients and was responsible for all aspects of the Bermuda office from operations, financial reporting, infrastructure, and business development. Prior to joining Meridian in 2007, Ian was an Audit Senior at Deloitte Ltd in Bermuda from 2005 to 2007 in the Alternative Investments division. Prior thereto, Ian was an Assistant Manager at KPMG Durban, South Africa, auditing both public and private companies across various industries. Ian received his Charted Accountant designation in 2005, and in 2009 he was awarded a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation. Ian received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Honors) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
