Adel A. Alderbas is the Chief Investment Officer and serves on Wafra’s Management Committee and Board of Directors. Mr. Alderbas oversees the firm’s investment activities across mandates. He leads investments in strategic partnerships across both next generation and established asset management businesses, real assets & infrastructure, and real estate.
Mr. Alderbas joined Wafra in 2007 and currently serves on the boards of GW Bulkers, Ascension FBO, Beyond Data Centers, and Spotless Brands. He is President of Capital Constellation and a Senior Advisor to DigitalBridge.
Mr. Alderbas earned a BS with honors from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David W. Hamm is a Senior Managing Director and serves on Wafra’s Management Committee. Mr. Hamm is the Head of Real Estate and chairs the Real Estate Investment Committee for traditional real estate strategies.
Previously, Mr. Hamm was a Managing Director at DWS responsible for leading the East Coast transactions team focusing on office, retail, industrial and multifamily products for direct equity and structured debt investments. During his 19 years at DWS he completed more than $7.0 billion in transactions.
Mr. Hamm earned a BS from Lehigh University and an MBA from Columbia University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Pension Real Estate Associates, and the National Multi Housing Council.
Fergus Healy is the Interim CEO/Chief Operating Officer and serves on Wafra’s Management Committee and Board of Directors. Mr. Healy oversees corporate and investment operations, charged with managing legal and tax affairs, day-to-day operations, fund accounting, human resources, IT and the administration, establishment and structuring of investment funds. He joined Wafra in 2014.
Mr. Healy has more than 30 years of experience in alternative funds. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Fund Services Group. Prior to that, he was employed in legal, client facing and business management roles in the alternative fund space at JP Morgan, Citi and Bank of Bermuda. Mr. Healy also ran his own consulting business providing structuring, operational due diligence and corporate services to fund managers, investors and other participants in the fund industry.
Mr. Healy earned a BCL from the University College Dublin and qualified as Solicitor in Ireland.
Alex Massimo is the Chief Financial Officer of Wafra. Mr. Massimo is responsible for the company’s finances, accounting policies, reporting, operations, IT, and audit management. He is charged with multiple corporate functions, including those of controller, budgeting and supervision of corporate staff. Mr. Massimo is involved in the management of company capital, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the company’s stakeholders, and regularly interacts with the company’s financial counterparties and service providers.
Previously, Mr. Massimo was a Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Finance at BrightSpire Capital, where he was responsible for capital markets, financial planning and analysis, capital allocation and investor relations. Prior to that, Mr. Massimo held similar positions at Colony Capital and NorthStar Asset Management Group. Mr. Massimo began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and UBS Investment Bank, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising in the real estate sector.
Mr. Massimo earned a BS in Finance and Economics from Boston College.
Lauren Rich is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Strategic Partnerships and serves on Wafra's Management Committee. Ms. Rich helps lead Wafra’s strategic partnership investment mandates in both next generation and established asset management businesses. While at Wafra, Ms. Rich has completed several direct minority investments in alternative asset management firms, GP financings, secondary private equity investments as well as investments within closed end funds.
Previously, Ms. Rich was an Associate with Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where she advised clients on a broad range of financing transactions.
Ms. Rich earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from New York University School of Law.
Richard Safranek is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Executive, Advisory, & Research and serves on Wafra’s Management Committee. He is also on the board of directors for Wafra’s parent company. Mr. Safranek leads a team that provides innovative consulting, research, and portfolio solution services for pensions, sovereign wealth funds, and other institutional investors.
Previously, Mr. Safranek served as a Portfolio Manager at Wafra, which he joined in 1995. Prior to that, Mr. Safranek served as an Investment Analyst at World-Wide Investment Co., a Hong Kong-based family office. He has over 20 years of investing experience with publicly-traded securities.
Mr. Safranek earned a BA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Columbia University. He completed a Chinese language program at Beijing Foreign Language Institute.
Edward Tsai is a Managing Director and member of the Management Committee at Wafra. Mr. Tsai is the Head of Real Assets and Infrastructure and is responsible for leading investment activities within the real assets and infrastructure business as well as portfolio oversight and management.
Mr. Tsai joined Wafra in 2014 and currently serves on the boards of Contract Leasing Corporation, Aquila Air Capital, The Hinckley Company, Signal Rail Holdings and American Inland Marine Holdings. He formerly served on the board of Global Container International.
Mr. Tsai earned an AB from Georgetown University and a JD from New York University School of Law.
